Here's what Jim and Shelly have to say about their Emerson Ranch purchases! - - - -

"Our first was, Bradley Bruce Dixon, a 6 year old fancy black and white APHA gelding. He has never taken a wrong step with us and has always been willing to do as asked. Bradley was kind natured and allowed us the opportunity to pony many young horses off of him. He was quiet and disciplined enough that we felt safe putting younger cowboys on him. We started him in the barrel pen and now has progressed to making his team roping debut in 2009. Our second, was Rollex Rabbit a 6 year old, good looking solid bay, APHA gelding. "Roley" has been a pure pleasure to ride. He is owned by our 16 year daughter who currently has him in barrel training. He is very expressive with a big soft eye. He has taken to the barrels extremely well; his speed is intense and he drives completely from the hip. His calm nature is what is most admirable of this horse which allows for young hands to be his partner. He is truly a treasure to our daughter as she has high hopes in his future, not to mention her senior class pictures are to be taken with him. Our third, was "Peppy Sun Freckles" a 6 year old, handsome red roan, AQHA gelding. "Pete" as we called him, is extremely athletic and able to cover a lot of ground. His good nature and sense of work ethics caught the eye of a New Mexico ranch owner where he is currently being ridden by the owner himself at the youthful age of 72. Our fourth, was "Sugar" Malaya a 6 year old, pretty gray, APHA mare. Sugar is extremely quick to learn. Her kind disposition gives her a willing attitude allowing for her training as a barrel prospect to progress nicely. I have been able to use this mare with her good sense of work ethics in many fashions. She has been used at the Sale Barn and at the Feedlot for day work. I can rely on her as our main turn back horse in the cutting pen. She has excellent movement with grace and could even make a hunter/jumper. Her ability to drive with her hip and quick response keeps our future hopes in her as a barrel prospect. We also have in training, Dellex Haggard, a five year old, stout black and white, APHA stallion. "Dell" is owned by the Emerson Ranch and is continuing his education here in the cutting pen. He is a good natured stallion and an admirable athlete with tons of eye appeal. Because he is an extremely quiet and easy to ride stallion he has been our "Go To" horse and has been used to gather many pastures this past Fall. He is coming along nicely and we hope to be showing this stallion by the middle of 2009. We feel when you buy a horse from the Emerson Ranch, they will come to you Broke, Broke, Broke and the ability to go many ways!!!!"
